Wheel Alignment Settings

These figures should be used a reference point for any wheel alignment work that needs done. It is worth noting that the workshop manual calls up a special tool for clamping the steering rack in the centre position whilst toe is being adjusted.

According to the Audi manual this tool is 3075 for RHD cars and 3279 for LHD. Bizarrely, the Bentley manual (for the North American non turbo coupe quattro) calls up 3075. Go figure ! Seemingly, tool 3075 can be used on LHD or RHD cars, but a later tool, 3279, is only for use on LHD.

While we're talking tools, the manual also shows use of tool 3196 for setting front camber. Finally the coupe requires tool 3098 for rear camber adjustment.

S2 Coupe

It is unknown at time of writing if these figures (from the Bentley manual) for the 7A engined Coupe quattro (1BE sports suspension) are 100% accurate for the S2, but I'm not aware of any reason why the S2 would have been setup any differently - maybe higher weight of S2 would have made some changes ?
